Caid Essebsi receives former Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa

President Beji Caid Essebsi met, Wednesday at the Carthage Palace, with former Secretary-General of the Arab States League and former Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Amr Moussa, currently visiting Tunisia to participate in an international conference held on April 10th and 11th, 2018 in Tunis on the theme “The Silk Road: China and the Mediterranean Sea”.

During the meeting, Amr Moussa emphasised the importance of this conference which, he said, will not fail to contribute to broadening the cooperation prospects between China, the Mediterranean region and North Africa.

Commending Amr Moussa’s exemplary career in the diplomatic and political spheres, the head of state stressed the importance of benefiting from Arab expertise and high skills and drawing inspiration from their ideas to settle issues that affect the region.

According to a statement of the Presidency of the Republic, the meeting also provided an overview of the situation in the region and examined ways of facing the various challenges.
