Caid Essebsi receives ophthalmologist Raouf Rekik

President Beji Caid Essebsi received on Friday researcher and Professor in Ophthalmology Raouf Rekik.

In a Presidency of the Republic press release, Dr. Rekik said that he had presented to the Head of State the results of his scientific research in the last few years in ophthalmology.

Thanks to these results, Tunisia has obtained five patents for pharmaceutical industry recognised by European countries as well as by Japan and the United States.

For Dr. Rekik, this feat represents a qualitative leap in the industrialisation of medicines in Tunisia.

“Tunisian-made medicines are now exported to international markets and especially to countries that are leaders in pharmaceutical industry,” he pointed out, citing the example of the United States and Russia.
