Caid Essebsi to attend 29th Arab League Summit in Saudi Arabia

President of the Republic Beji Caid Essebsi will attend the 29th Arab League Summit set for Sunday in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, at the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, said the Presidency Press Office.

Caid Essebsi will deliver an address that sets out Tunisia’s stances on main Arab causes.

The President of the Republic is also expected to outline Tunisia’s initiative intended to defuse the Libya crisis and its approach to promoting common Arab action mechanisms.

Caid Essebi will also call for increased inter-Arab solidarity to chart a way out of crises and safeguard the region from terrorism and violence.

Besides, the President will have a series of talks with Arab leaders on the sidelines of the summit.

Eighteen items are on the agenda of the Summit, including political and economic issues in relation to the Palestinian cause, the Arab-Israeli conflict and the latest developments in Syria, Libya and Yemen.

Support for peace and development in Sudan, counter- terrorism efforts, Arab-Iranian relations and an enhanced inter-Arab economic cooperation will likewise be discussed.
