Calm Restored in Sampa Following Deadly Chieftaincy Clash

Sampa: The police report that calm has returned to Sampa in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region after a violent chieftaincy clash resulted in one fatality and several injuries.

According to Ghana News Agency, a statement issued and signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, the Bono Regional Police Public Relations Officer, revealed that three police officers suffered gunshot wounds during the conflict. The officers have since received medical treatment and have been discharged.

The renewed chieftaincy clash on September 10, 2025, led to the destruction of personal properties, including residential buildings, and the Sampa Market. The clash was between two feuding traditional factions in the area.

No arrests have been made yet in connection with the incident. A copy of the statement, made available to the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani, indicated that police have commenced investigations. Additionally, security reinforcement has been deployed to maintain law and order in the area.
