The agreement, initialed by CNDP President Omar Seghrouchni and the Chief Executive Officer of the Casablanca Stock Exchange Tarik Senhaji, formalizes the adhesion of the Casablanca Stock Exchange to this program, launched on July 9, 2020, in order to protect users of the Moroccan stock market system within the financial ecosystem and to strengthen personal data protection measures.
It also seeks to determine the conditions and methods of collaboration between the two sides as well as to promote partnerships in the processing and protection of personal data.
This partnership will strengthen compliance with Law 09-08, Seghrouchni told MAP, stressing that “the financial system and the stock market show the importance of the protection of personal data in the economic system.”
Indeed, the protection of personal data is an effective way to facilitate and encourage the exchange of information and, as a result, to promote investments and partnerships, at the national and international levels, he pointed out.
Mr. Seghrouchni highighted on this occasion the economic dimension of the protection of personal data, as added value to the national economic system.
For his part, Mr. Senhaji highlighted the thousands of transactions carried out every day within the Casablanca Stock Exchange, noting that “trust is the primary currency of the stock market”.
The main ambition of the DATA TIKA program partnership agreement is to strengthen user confidence and ensure the fair, equitable and efficient processing of data processed by the Stock Exchange quotation system, he explained.
The signature of this agreement is not only about protecting personal data, but it is also a mechanism to proactively improve the stock market environment, he argued.
“Similarly, it is a springboard for the establishment of transaction and trade systems between the various economic actors in complete peace of mind and efficiency”, said Mr. Senhaji.
The DATA TIKA programs, which are guided by a collaborative vision and which were joined by various companies, public establishments, associations and national NGOs, aim to promote trust in the handling of digital data, in particular that of a personal nature.
