Foreign Minister KhemaAes Jhinaoui is leading a delegation to the 10th Ministerial Meeting of Libya Neighbours due Saturday in Cairo.
The latest developments in Libya will be addressed along with ways to coordinate initiatives tabled by neighbour countries to chart a way out of the current crisis, the Foreign Ministry Friday said in a press release.
The meeting will also shed light on regional and international efforts exerted to support the Libyan people as well as on initiatives designed to help Libyan stakeholders engage in dialogue so as to iron out the difficulties hampering the implementation of last December’s Libyan Political Agreement (LPA) in Skhirat.
The move is part of the efforts made by Libya’s neighbours to reach a comprehensive political solution that will help preserve the country’s unity, protect its institutions and achieve the peace and stability the Libyan people aspires to.
Jhinaoui will discuss in a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts ways to put into effect the Tunisian initiative.
This 10th meeting will be attended by Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Libya Martin Kobler, Special Representative of the Arab League Secretary-General for Libya Slaheddine Jammeli and SG of the Arab League Ahmed Abou Gheith.
