“Some 5850 amnestied people have benefited from direct recruitment into the public service and 2,729 others received indirect compensation from the State amounting to 119 million dinars,” said Prime Minister’s Adviser in charge of social issues, SaAed Blel.
“Direct compensations, valued at 30 million dinars, were offered as a gift by Qatar,” he said during his hearing by the parliamentary Committee of Martyrs and Wounded of the Revolution and the Implementation of the Law on General Amnesty and Transitional Justice on the Material and Intangible Compensation of Amnesty.
The PM’s adviser noted that the State had not previously paid direct financial compensation to the victims of repression.
“The some 119 million dinars released were paid through social security funds, as part of the recovery of the career path of amnesty,” he said.
According to Blel, 2,268 amnestied members of the National Pension and Social Welfare Fund (CNRPS) and 461 other members of the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) have benefited from this mechanism.
“Direct compensation will be released by an amnesty compensation fund created within the framework of the Truth and Dignity Commission (French: IVD)” he added.
In addition, SaAed Blel reported the refusal of the integration of many amnestied in the public service, although they hold certificates of recruitment.
In this regard, he recalled the establishment in 2015 of a committee to address this problem, noting that several issues inherent to this problem had been resolved.
The total number of amnestied amounted to 10 thousand
