CEO Urges Western North Students to Embrace Science and Math for Future Opportunities


Bibiani: Mrs. Ifeanyi Ahyia Adjei, Chief Executive Officer and Project Manager of the ‘Ogyeahoho Science and Technology Fair’, has called on students in the Western North Region to develop a keen interest in Mathematics and Science. She emphasized that this focus would position them for future opportunities in the rapidly evolving technological world.



According to Ghana News Agency, Mrs. Adjei highlighted the significance of technology in shaping modern life, touching on areas such as education, health, communication, and industry during her speech at the second edition of the Ogyeahoho Science and Technology Fair held at Bibiani Senior High School. She stressed the importance of equipping students with scientific knowledge and technological skills to remain competitive on a global scale.



She stated, ‘The world is rapidly moving into a technology-driven era, and our students cannot afford to be left behind. Developing strong foundations in Mathematics and Science is essential for innovation, problem-solving, and national development.’ Mrs. Adjei urged teachers, parents, and educational authorities to support initiatives that promote science and technology education.



Reaffirming the organization’s commitment, she emphasized nurturing young talents and providing platforms for students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world solutions. The fair, themed ‘Empowering Tomorrow’s Innovators Today,’ was organized by Avance Media under the leadership of Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area and President of the National House of Chiefs.



The event showcased STEM fields including coding, website development, robotics, and artificial intelligence, and was sponsored by Asante Gold Corporation as part of its corporate social responsibility. Mr. Wilbert Petty Brentu, the Western North Regional Minister, underscored the transformative power of education and encouraged students to seize every learning opportunity.



He reminded the students that the knowledge they acquire today would lay the foundation for their future success, igniting a renewed sense of purpose and determination among the young audience. Presiding over the event, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II advised students to take the initiative seriously, stating, ‘Technology is what propels the world forward.’ He challenged students to think critically about their contributions to technological advancement and national development.
