Chahed pays tribute to paralympic athletes

Prime Minister Youssef Chahed, on Tuesday, paid tribute to Tunisian paralympic athletes who shined at the World Para Athletics Championships held from July 14 to 23 in London.

The Prime Minister decided to grant members of the national team (athletes and technical staff) incentive bonuses totalling 657 thousand Tunisian dinars and to dedicate a piece of land to building an accommodation centre for paralympic athletes.

An exceptional bonus will also be awarded jointly by the Youth and Sports and Social Affairs ministries. The premium will be used to buy a bus suited to the specificities of people with disabilities.

The national paralympic team had bagged 24 medals (10 gold, 6 silver and 8 bronze) during these championships.

The gold medals were won by Walid Ktila (4 gold), Yassine Gharbi (2), Maroua Brahmi (1) and Rima Abdelli (1)
