China and Tunisia Forge Strategic Partnership to Boost Investment in Africa

Tunisia: “Tunisia represents a strategic gateway for investment in Africa due to its unique geographical location, high level of education, and solid industrial base,” Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China said on Friday.

According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, in an interview with TAP, Wan Li highlighted that during Tunisian President Kas Saied’s visit to China in May 2024, both Tunisian and Chinese authorities announced the establishment of a ‘strategic partnership’ and enhanced mutual political trust. This partnership aims to scale up cooperation across all sectors and accelerate the implementation of agreements concluded between the two countries within a short timeframe.

Ambassador Li further elaborated that China is prepared to collaborate with Tunisia to establish cooperation with other African countries and explore trilateral cooperation opportunities. He emphasized that the two nations will co-host the “Tunisia-China-Africa Forum on Medical Development” in November, which is viewed as a model of cooperation with Africa, leveraging Tunisia’s excellence in the healthcare sector.

He also highlighted that modernisation is a shared goal for over 2.8 billion people across China and Africa, marking a crucial process for building a Sino-African community with a common future in all fields. “The development of China contributes to Africa’s development to achieve mutual benefits and shared prosperity, a development widely welcomed by African peoples,” he concluded.
