Hamburg: A Chinese national drew a knife at Germany's Hamburg Airport on Thursday, as authorities were about to deport him alongside his 9-year-old daughter. The incident unfolded when the 42-year-old man threatened to harm himself in an effort to halt the deportation process.

According to Ghana News Agency, the situation was tense but resulted in no injuries. Police officers engaged in a standoff with the man, eventually managing to disarm him after approximately one hour of negotiations. A police spokesman detailed that their intervention was crucial in preventing any harm.

Following the incident, a doctor assessed the man and determined he should be placed under psychiatric care. Meanwhile, the man's daughter was temporarily taken into the custody of social services, ensuring her safety and well-being during the unfolding events.
