Christians Encouraged to Support Church Growth through Sacrificial Giving

Accra: The Reverend Gabriel Baniba, Tsawenu District Pastor of the Global Evangelical Church (GEC), has urged Christians to willingly contribute their resources for the growth of the church and the development of God's kingdom. "God's Word and his kingdom cannot reach the ends of the world without Christians sacrificing their resources, time, and energy," he stated.

According to Ghana News Agency, Rev Baniba delivered this message during a sendoff service organized for Rev Anthony Segbe, the outgoing Adaklu Waya District Pastor of the GEC, held over the weekend. During the service, he preached on the theme: 'Sacrifice for the Kingdom of God,' quoting 2nd Corinthians 9: 6 - 15. Rev Baniba, who is also the Ho Presbytery Coordinator of the Men's Ministry of the Church, emphasized the importance of generosity and compassion, urging Christians to emulate the early believers to help those in darkness see the light of God.

He reassured Christians that their generous contributions to the Church, even amidst personal challenges, would bring them more blessings from God. Rev Segbe, who was commissioned as a Minister of the Church in 2008 and ordained in 2010, has served in various capacities, including as the District Pastor in Likpe and later in Akim Oda before moving to Adaklu Waya in 2019. He also served as the Project Pastor for the Adaklu Waya Global Child Development Centre.

Rev Segbe expressed his gratitude to the church community for their unwavering support throughout his tenure. He noted a significant increase in Church membership during his six-year stay and encouraged members to continue their efforts in winning more souls for God. The Church and the Child Development Centre honored Rev Segbe with citations, while the congregation, groups, and individuals presented him with cash donations and other gifts in recognition of his service.
