Church Described as ‘The Conscience of the Nation’ by Minister Ahmed Ibrahim


Accra: Mr Ahmed Ibrahim, the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, has highlighted the pivotal role of the Church by describing it as ‘the conscience of the nation.’ He emphasized its significant contribution to shaping moral vision, civic responsibility, and national transformation during his address at the Royal House Chapel International’s annual ‘Convention of Saints’ in Accra.



According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Ibrahim asserted that the Church holds the solutions to the nation’s challenges through the moral and spiritual reawakening of the populace. He believes that this reawakening is crucial in achieving the desired progress for Ghana. The Minister, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for the Banda Constituency, attended the event with Madam Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, the Deputy Minister and Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon. Their visit aimed to connect with the church community and convey the President’s warm greetings to the Apostle General and the congregation.



Mr Ibrahim expressed his appreciation for Apostle General Sam Korankye Ankrah and the leadership of the Royal House Chapel, acknowledging their ongoing efforts in building strong moral foundations and nurturing responsible citizenship. He also recognized the universal Church’s timeless role in inspiring positive change, strengthening communities, and supporting leadership in advancing human progress and national development.



The Minister reiterated the notion that the Church acts as the conscience of society and requested prayers for divine guidance and strength to fulfill his responsibilities. He also called for continuous intercession for the President, hoping that God would grant him the wisdom needed to govern the nation sustainably for the benefit of all Ghanaians. Furthermore, Mr Ibrahim extended the President’s gratitude to the Royal House Chapel family for their steadfast prayers and unwavering support for national peace, unity, and good governance.



The culmination of the ‘Convention of Saints’ was characterized by vibrant worship, prayer, and thanksgiving, symbolizing the enduring partnership between faith and leadership in Ghana’s journey toward renewal and sustainable national development.
