City of Science to host panel discussion on marine and continental biodiversity

The City of Science is organising, on April 13, 2018, a panel discussion entitled Marine and continental biodiversity in Tunisia moderated by Professor Mejdeddine Kraiem and Abdallah Hattour.

The panel will provide a comprehensive inventory of the Tunisian marine fish species and brackish and freshwater fish.

A special attention will be paid to the common species of Tunisian waters, concerning their eco-biological characteristics, their regional and local bio-geographical distribution as well as their ecological (origin, classification) and economic status (exploitation by fishing and / or aquaculture, state stocks).

Solutions and recommendations will be proposed for the preservation of Tunisian fisheries and stocks of the various exploitable species.
