(TAP) – Colonel Doctor Ali M’rabet has been named acting Health Minister, under a presidential decree issued Friday, said a Presidency statement, adding he was sworn in before President Kais Saied, in accordance with Article 89 of the Constitution.
The President stressed at the swearing-in ceremony that the right to health is a human right, citing Article 38 of the constitution: «health is a right for every human being.»
«Colonel Ali Mrabet is one of the Tunisian doctors of whom the country is proud,» he indicated, affirming that a «tremendous and historic work» has been made to provide citizens with COVID-19 vaccines, after several months during which «the health of citizens was the subject of speculation.»
The Head of State expressed his commitment to move forward in the fight against «manoeuvres and allegations» relayed on social media, saying they «can only bolster his approach and his irreversible choices.»
