Kenyan Edwin Kiptoo won the 35th edition of the “COMAR” Tunis-Carthage marathon (42.195 km) held Sunday.
Kiptoo beat his compatriot Alex Saekwo (2nd) and Ethiopian Gadissa Tafa Dekeba (3rd).
In the women’s race, the race was dominated by the Ethiopian athlete Kebene Chala who preceded her compatriots Eunice Jeptoo and Solina Jebet.
The half-marathon event (21.1 km) was particularly dominated by Tunisian athletes in women and in men.
In men’s category, Tunisian Atef Saad stood out by winning the event, ahead of his compatriots Mohamed Amine Ghouinem and Akrem Sakli.
In the women’s event, the final win went to Tunisian Mahbouba Belgacem, who crossed the finishing line ahead of her compatriots Haifa Tarchoun and Maissa Kadri.
The Tunisians have also monopolised the podium of the race for all.
Eya Ouerghi finished first ahead of Manel Hamdi and Hela Hamdi, while Mohamed Anis Jerbi finished first in the men’s event, ahead of Nassim Souissi and Nadhmi Deber.
