The Tunisian and Libyan Ministers of Health said at a meeting in the border crossing of Ras Jedir Wednesday it was agreed to maintain traffic in this border point and create a joint Tunisian-Libyan health committee operational today that will undertake to monitor the movement of travelers and verify compliance with the health protocol and PCR tests.
Minister of Health, Faouzi Mehdi and his Libyan counterpart Ali Zinati told reporters a remote meeting will be held Thursday between the Tunisian observatory of new and emerging diseases and the Libyan observatory to review of the health and epidemic situation in both countries to take appropriate decisions.
“These decisions will focus on strengthening the control or if necessary, closing the border crossing of Ras Jedir to prevent the spread of coronavirus and all its variants, “they said.
The two ministers pointed to the seriousness of the health situation due to pandemic and the rapid spread of the coronavirus in both countries.
