TAMALE: The Community Water and Sanitation Agency, in partnership with World Vision, has commemorated Handwashing with Soap Day in Tamale to enhance hygiene practices across the Northern Region. The initiative aims to raise awareness of the significant health benefits of handwashing with soap, particularly among children, mothers, and caregivers. According to Ghana News Agency, the event received support from the Coalition of NGOs in Water and Sanitation, Afram Plains Development Organisation, and Global Communities. During the event, Mr. Alhaji Ewura Ahmed, Northern Regional Director of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency, emphasized the critical role of handwashing in disease prevention. Alhaji Shani Alhassan Saibu, Northern Regional Mini ster, also addressed the gathering, urging parents, teachers, and caregivers to instill the habit of handwashing with soap in children. The event underscored the importance of integrating handwashing into daily routines to promote healthier lives within the community.
