Tunisia logged 1,976 COVID-19 infections on September 1, from 12,284 tests, i.e. a 16.09% positivity rate, bringing the tally to 670,027, the Health Ministry said Friday.

Sixteen deaths were also reported on the same day, taking the death toll to 23,710.

Recoveries also rose by 5,537 to 627,890.

The number of people staying in public and private healthcare facilities rose by 60 to 2,574, including 485 in ICUs and 111 under life support.
