Coronavirus: 30% of the population fully vaccinated (MoH)

The daily number of people who were administered coronavirus vaccines has recently recorded an increase from 30,000 per day in previous weeks to 40,000 per day since the end of last week, Rafla Dallagi, adviser at the Ministry of Health said Wednesday.

“If we maintain this pace for ten days, about 50% of the Tunisian population will be given at least one jab,» she told TAP, noting that currently 30% of the population is fully vaccinated and 47% of Tunisians are partially vaccinated.

The official recalled that the goal was to vaccinate 50% of the Tunisian population before the end of October.

Dallaji added that about 30% of people aged 40 years and over have missed their appointment to receive the second dose of the vaccine, for unknown reasons.

She further indicated that Tunisia has probably a community immunity estimated at 80% through vaccination and infection with the virus.

4,397,120 people have completed their vaccination scheme from the launch of the national coronavirus vaccination drive last March 13 until October 25.
