Seven people have died of the coronavirus in the last 24 hours in the governorate of Sfax, where the pandemic has caused a total of 1913 deaths, according to an updated report published by the local health directorate Thursday.

Moreover, 1,126 COVID-19 cases wete detected in the region, after the results of 2080 laboratory tests were published, a positivity rate of 54%. This brings overall infection cases in the governorate of Sfax, since the spread of the pandemic.

According to the same source, 504 people have recovered from the infection, bringing total recoveries in the region to 60227.

Currently, 19 COVID patients are placed in ICU, 95 admitted to the Hedi Chaker hospital and 25 others hospitalised in private clinics in the governorate of Sfax, the same source said
