Tunis: Prime Minister Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri chaired the Council of Ministers on Thursday at the Government Palace in Kasbah to review a number of draft laws and decrees, on behalf of and under the instructions of President Kais Saied. According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, during the meeting, the Cabinet discussed several draft laws and decrees covering social and economic matters, particularly those aimed at strengthening energy security, food security, housing, healthcare, and air transport, as well as implementing a number of social programmes. Opening the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized that a legislative revolution alone is not sufficient and must be accompanied by a cultural and administrative revolution. She underscored the need to foster a culture of serious and dedicated work across all public facilities to improve their performance, increase productivity, and enhance the quality of services provided to citizens. In the same context, she highlighted the importance of implementing certifi ed quality management systems and improving governance mechanisms within public facilities. She stressed that every public employee must carry out their professional duties properly and assume full responsibility for performing their work efficiently in the service of the Tunisian people. She also called on all managers to monitor and evaluate the performance of their staff, reinforce discipline and accountability, and ensure that those who fail to fulfill their duties are held responsible. The Prime Minister also stressed the need for continuous monitoring of the progress of all public projects across the country's regions by officials at the central, regional, and local levels. She urged for the acceleration of project implementation and boosting both public and private investment, particularly as Tunisia is set to begin implementing the programmes, projects, and reforms included in the Development Plan 2026-2030. She stated that these initiatives aim to achieve economic and social integration, comprehens ive, fair and balanced development, and social justice, while contributing to the construction of a strong, resilient economy capable of withstanding rapid global changes, in line with the aspirations of Tunisians and the directives of President Kais Saied. Concluding the meeting, the Prime Minister reaffirmed that the state is moving forward with implementing its social and economic policies, in accordance with the President's directives, to meet the demands of citizens throughout the country and ensure they enjoy their legitimate right to a dignified life. President Kais Saied had tasked Prime Minister Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri during their meeting on Wednesday with chairing the Council of Ministers to deliberate on a number of draft laws and decrees.
