Couturier Azzedine Alaia’s body returns to Tunisia

The remains of French-Tunisian couturier Azzedine Alaia, who used to live in Paris, was returned on Sunday night to his native country Tunisia.

Culture Minister Mohamed Zine el Abidine and France’s Ambassador to Tunisia Olivier Poivre d’Arvor were present at the Tunis-Carthage Airport when Alaia’s body arrived.

Alaia had died on Friday aged 77.

The burial ceremony will be held on Monday at the Sidi Bou Said cemetery.
