16 deaths following a coronavirus infection were recorded on Friday as well as 7, 859 additional infections out of a total of 20 thousand 769 tests carried out, said a statement of the Ministry of Health made public on Saturday.

According to the same source, the total number of deaths since the outbreak of the pandemic amounts to 26 thousand 229 deaths. The number of recoveries recorded on Friday is about 7207.

The number of patients hospitalised in private and public health facilities is around 1025, including 87 new cases recorded on Friday.

The number of cases admitted in intensive care units is estimated at 181 and 49 patients are on artificial respirators.
