9 COVID-19 deaths and 1,077 infections were logged on March 1 from 5,201 tests (20.71% positivity rate), taking the caseload to 1,000,518 and death toll to 27,857, the Health Ministry said.

The number of recoveries rose by 5,365, hitting 958,952.

34 new hospitalisations in public and private healthcare facilities took the total to 839. This includes 177 patients in intensive care and 48 under life support.
