A field hospital will be set up within two weeks at the Boumhel sports hall in a bid to ease pressure at the El Yasminet local hospital, Ben Arous Governor Ali Saied said Sunday.
“This hospital will be fully equipped,” he affirmed on the fringes of his visit to El Yasminet hospital, pointing to a “worrying” pressure on the accommodation services of COVID-19 patients.
“This hospital will be fully equipped,” he affirmed on the fringes of his visit to the El Yasminet hospital, pointing to a “worrying” pressure on the accommodation services of COVID-19 patients.
The setting up of this hospital is aimed at preparing for any eventuality after an “unprecedented” outbreak of infections, he stated to TAP.
It was agreed with the hospital’s medics and paramedics in coordination with the region’s business leaders, to draw up an urgent list of necessary medical equipment, citing as an example the need to acquire two ventilators and mobilise 15 thousand dinars to reinforce the capacity of the COVID-19 ward’s capacities, he indicated.
Emergency materials and equipment will be provided as soon as possible for the benefit of health professionals working at the hospital, he added.
