The Coronavirus claimed the lives of eleven more people in Gabés during the past 24 hours, Coordinator of the local health watch committee Houssine Jobrane told TAP on Wednesday.

Seventy-five infections were also logged after the results of 193 tests were returned, taking the caseload to 18,909 infections, including 17,947 recoveries and 585 deaths.

There are currently 952 active carriers in the region, including 236 in South Gabès, 118 in New Matmata, 78 in Ouedref, 62 in Gabès City, 33 in Métouia, 28 in West Gabès, 15 in Ghanouch, 14 in El Hamma, 11 in Matmata and 7 in Menzel Habib.

Eighty-one patients are currently hospitalised, 12 of whom are in intensive care in the teaching hospital.
