Gabes governorate saw 20 more infections with the coronavirus, after returning the results of 144 tests, Coordinator of the Local Health Watch Unit Houssine Jabrane said on Thursday.

The new positive cases were detected in South Gabes (13 cases), Oudhref (4 cases), Mareth (1 case), El Hamma (1 case) and Ghannouch (1 case).

The case tally in the region is thus up to 22,268, including 22,113 recoveries and 155 active carriers, according to the same source.

There are currently 10 patients admitted in the governorate’s hospitals, including 3 placed in intensive care at the university hospital of Gabes.

The incidence rate in the region currently stands at 38 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
