COVID-19: Morocco Records 693 New Cases, Almost 17.6 Mln Fully Vaccinated People

A total of 21,221,268 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Morocco, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 17,590,697, the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.

The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 920,374, while recoveries rise to 885,490, i.e. a recovery rate of 96.2%.

The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (321), Casablanca-Settat (89), the Oriental (78), Marrakech-Safi (52), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (46), Fez-Meknes (28), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (27), Souss-Massa (23), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (16), Draa-Tafilalet (7), Guelmim-Oued Noun (4) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (2).

As for coronavirus-related deaths, they rose to 13,959 with 48 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours in the regions of Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (19), Casablanca-Settat (11), the Oriental (5), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (5), Marrakech-Safi (2), Fez-Meknes (2), Souss-Massa (2), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (1) and Draa-Tafilalet (1).

The number of active cases dropped to 20,926, including 1,415 in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
