COVID-19 claimed the lives of 5 more people in Sidi Bouzid, taking the death count to 818, Deputy-Director of Basic Healthcare Bechir Saidi told TAP.

51 further infections were logged, pushing the caseload to 27,474.

These infection case were reported in Jelma (19), Regueb (2), Meknassi (1),East Sidi Bouzid (1), West Sidi Bouzid (5), Sidi Ali Ben Aoun (20) and Ouled Haffouz (2).

Recoveries also rose by 34, reaching 26,016, the local health directorate said.

107 COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalised in the region’s hospitals, the same source added.
