Two people died of the coronavirus during the last 24 hours in Sfax governorate, where the pandemic has caused 1,752 fatalities in total, according to a report published by the Local Health Directorate on Monday.

Another 19 people in the region have contracted the virus, among 483 tested, i.e. a 3.93% positivity rate. This pushes the caseload in Sfax to 56,917, including 55,434 recoveries.

There are currently 15 patients in intensive care, 39 admitted to Hedi Chaker Hospital and 6 others receiving care in private clinics in the region, the same source added.

On another level, 875,208 coronavirus vaccine doses were administered in the governorate of Sfax, since the start of the jab drive in mid-March.
