The French Embassy in Tunis on Friday, in coordination with the Tunisian authorities, launched a COVID-19 vaccination campaign for the benefit of the French community in Tunisia, at the headquarters of the French Institute in Tunis.
The embassy said in a statement that France sent more than 14,000 vaccine doses for this campaign to vaccinate the French community in the country.
The statement underlined that French people in Tunisia will be able, in the next few days, to be vaccinated, according to precise modalities to be announced later by the Consulate General.
France started, in the previous days, delivering shipments of medical aid and vaccine doses to Tunisia to support the country’s efforts to combat the pandemic.
A batch of 500,000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine was delivered by France on Friday, bringing the number of vaccines provided to Tunisia to more than one million doses.
France will have sent 85 tonnes of medical equipment by the end of July, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
