CPG employees on protest

The employees of the Gafsa Phosphate Company (CPG) are observing a protest rally outside the company’s headquarters on Monday to urge supervisory authorities to find an urgent solution to the paralysis of activity in the various phosphate production sites.

The protest is part of a campaign launched a week ago on social networks, aimed at sensitising the supervisory authorities about the blocking position in the mining basin delegations of Mdhilla, Redeyef, Om Larayes and Metlaoui and its consequences on the company’s financial balance and on the slowdown of the activity of partner companies, since about twenty days, including in particular the Tunisian Chemical Group and the Tunisian company for the transport of mining products.

Access to mining sites in the Gafsa region has been blocked since January 20, 2018, by jobless people who contest the results of the 4th part of the recruitment contest by the CPG for a total of 1,700 enforcement agents.
