CREDIF receives OIC prize for Women’s Achievements

The Centre for Research, Studies, Documentation and Information on women (French: CREDIF) received Wednesday the second edition of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) prize for Women’s Achievements.

Minister of Women, Family and Elderly Affairs Imen Zahouani Houimel handed this award to Director General of the centre Najla Allani.

The Minister of Women, Family and the Elderly, representant of Tunisia, received the OIC prize during the closure of the Eighth Ministerial Conference of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation on Women that took place in Cairo on July 6-8 on the theme «Preserving the Achievements of Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment in Light of the COVID-19 Pandemic and Beyond».

The CREDIF was granted the OIC Prize for Women’s Achievements in recognition of their outstanding contributions in the field of women empowerment in the OIC Member States and in particular for its study entitled “Women’s Jobs and local economic dynamic” that aims to empower women, develop their skills and enhance women’s business opportunities.

The CREDIF was awarded this prize out of several nominees representing different countries: Pakistan, Azerbaijan , Chad, Burkina-Faso, Nigera, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Tunisia.
