CST, IRD ink partnership agreement

The Tunis City of Science (French: CST) and the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (French: IRD) inked on Thursday a partnership agreement to exchange knowledge and expertise and boost the CST’s material resources.

This agreement aims at promoting the Tunisian population’s scientific culture, CST Director-General Fathi Zagrouba told TAP.

Regional CST offices will soon be set up in Jendouba, Kairouan, Sfax and Gabes with a bid to allow a broad population to benefit from the CST’s scientific activities.

For his part, Director-General of International Cooperation at the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry Malek Kochlef said the agreement also aims at boosting the Tunisian skills through abroad training courses.

This agreement will help encourage the youths to choose science, IRD Representative in Tunisia Mohamed Ali Marouani said. The development of a society depends on science, he pointed out.
