An attempt to smuggle €1.49 million (4.9 million dinars) was foiled by Customs services at the Tunis-Carthage Airport.
This sum of money was found in the possession of a North African passenger, as he was about to exit the airport, according to the Customs General Directorate.
This operation was conducted under the law in force on the unauthorised export of currency and fight against currency crime and fund smuggling across borders.
