CWG Ghana and Nigerian Partner Launch AI-Powered Reconciliation Tool for Financial Institutions

ACCRA: CWG Ghana Limited, in collaboration with Nigeria's Precise Financial Systems (PFS), has unveiled an AI-driven account reconciliation solution aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing fraud risks for financial institutions in Ghana. The newly launched tool, CLIREC, promises to streamline account reconciliation processes, cutting down the time required from several hours to mere minutes. According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Oluwaseun Layade, Head of Project Management and Corporate Development at CWG Ghana, emphasized the growing reliance on technology to achieve organizational objectives. At the launch, he highlighted the challenges faced by many organizations due to manual and semi-automated reconciliation processes. CLIREC, he explained, offers a fully automated solution powered by artificial intelligence, thereby addressing these issues and minimizing opportunities for fraudulent activities. The AI-based system has already been implemented in over 40 countries, enhancing decision-making quality in both public and private sectors. Mr. Layade assured that despite the risk of systems being manipulated for fraud, CLIREC incorporates comprehensive checks and balances to ensure robust security for users. He noted that the efficiency of the system lies in its rapid processing capability, which allows for quick reconciliation of accounts, a task that traditionally consumed several hours each day. Mr. Philip Ayeni, Deputy Managing Director at PFS, discussed the broader implications of the tool for Africa, highlighting its potential to foster growth by promoting the Pan-African spirit of collaboration. He pointed out the significant resource savings that automation brings to businesses, particularly financial institutions with thousands of accounts to reconcile daily. Ayeni further elaborated on the system's design, which ensures it is free from litigation and facilitates effective staff training and duty segregation. This design is intended to alleviate operational concerns arising from employee turnover. Ove r the past three decades, PFS has identified various inefficiencies within organizations, and the deployment of CLIREC aims to address these shortcomings, establishing a reliable and verifiable reconciliation system for clients across sectors.
