Dambai College of Education Celebrates First Bachelor of Education Graduates

DAMBAI: At the seventeenth congregation of the Dambai College of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister of Education, emphasized the government's commitment to equipping children with 21st-century skills through Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. The event marked a significant milestone as the college graduated its first cohort of 239 students from the four-year Bachelor of Education program in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region. According to Ghana News Agency, the congregation was held under the theme 'The Education of the Heart for a Sustainable National Development' and 'Innovative Education for a Sustainable Future: Reflecting on Transformative Learning and Development.' Dr. Adutwum highlighted the government's initiatives, including the introduction of free Senior High School (SHS) and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET), as well as the establishment and retooling of STEM Senior High Schools, to demonstrate its commitment to strengthenin g the educational system. Dr. Adutwum commended Dambai College of Education for its dedication to educational advancement through innovation and transformative learning. He noted that the college's research conference on sustainable education showcased its leadership in expanding knowledge and inspiring future educators to adopt innovative teaching methods. Dr. Mrs. Benedicta Awusi Atiku, the Principal of the College, congratulated the graduates on their accomplishments, acknowledging their dedication and perseverance throughout their studies. She expressed pride in their readiness to positively impact Ghana's education sector and highlighted the college's ongoing efforts to enhance teaching and learning, which include infrastructure improvements such as the drilling of boreholes and conversion of toilets. Dr. Atiku extended gratitude to the government, Oti Regional Coordinating Council, Krachi East Municipal Assembly, and other stakeholders for their support, while appealing for continued assistance. Grad uates Ms. Sophia Essel and Mr. Vincent Mireku expressed their appreciation to Dr. Atiku and the college's tutors for their guidance and dedication in shaping them into capable educators.
