DCAF-run informative website on criminal justice in Tunisia launched

An informative website on criminal justice in Tunisia http://comprendrelajusticepenale.tn” has just been launched, said Wided Boujeh, Project Officer, Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) Tunis.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday at the headquarters of the National Observatory of Tunisian Journalists in Tunis, Boujeh said the site aims to publicise criminal procedures in Tunisia and to keep citizens informed of legislation entailing both rights and duties.

“It aims to simplify the procedures and make known the different players involved in the areas of criminal justice,” she added.

Its content in French and Tunisian dialect offers simplified and interactive information allowing access to data related to the penal system in Tunisia.

It also seeks to be a space for the exchange of opinions on several legal situations, she said.

Boujeh also pointed out that the site highlights the various judicial institutions concerned by the criminal justice system, including administrative and control structures.
