Death of Immigration Officer: Police yet to receive, send report to AG


Adabraka: The Adabraka District Court has adjourned the case of the murdered Immigration Officer, Stephen King Amoah, to October 22. The adjournment came after the prosecution informed the court that the police were yet to receive and forward the comprehensive medical report on the cause of death to the Office of the Attorney General.



According to Ghana News Agency, the prosecution requested more time to gather the necessary report, prompting the court, presided over by Nana Abena Asoh Owusu-Omenyo, to adjourn the matter. The accused individuals, Bright Aweh, also known as Highest Bright, and Thomas Zigah, are facing trial for their alleged involvement in Amoah’s murder.



Both Aweh and Zigah have legal representation and have been charged with conspiracy to murder and murder. Their pleas were not taken by the court, and they have been remanded into lawful custody. The accused faced hostility from the deceased’s relatives, who wore red, black, and white T-shirts and directed insults at them.



Amoah went missing on July 3, 2025, after leaving home to meet Aweh at Ashongman Estates. His body was later found in a drain at Abom Junction. Investigations revealed that the meeting followed WhatsApp exchanges involving images of cash, allegedly intended to settle a debt.



Aweh claimed he gave Amoah GHC500,000 to settle a debt and keep the balance, but inconsistencies in his story raised suspicions. He was initially charged with kidnapping and later arrested for murder after police discovered a bloodstained camouflage fabric and a fufu pestle wrapped in polythene at his home. Zigah was arrested following weeks of investigations. Both now face charges of conspiracy to murder and murder.
