Deputy Education Minister Urges Tertiary Students to Support NPP in December Elections

KUMASI: Professor Kingsley Nyarko, the Deputy Minister for Education in charge of Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET), has called on tertiary students to cast their votes for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming 2024 general elections. He emphasized the party's commitment to advancing policies that would significantly benefit the education sector. According to Ghana News Agency, Professor Nyarko, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, made this appeal at the matriculation ceremony of Kwadaso Agricultural College, where 410 students were inducted into various Diploma and Higher National Diploma programs. During his address, he stressed the NPP's dedication to providing better educational opportunities and support for tertiary students across the country. Professor Nyarko outlined the NPP's plans to enhance access to student loans, ensuring they are available to all tertiary students regardless of their institution or course of study. He highlighted the party's past achievements in the education sector, including the implementation of fee-free education at the secondary level, the restoration of allowances for teacher and nursing trainees, and the abolition of utility bills for tertiary institution students. By urging students to vote "number one" for the NPP, Professor Nyarko conveyed his belief that such support would not only secure a brighter future for the students themselves but also contribute to the overall development of Ghana.
