Dhiba-Wazen border post re-opens

The Dhiba-Wazen border post re-opened on Monday after having been closed on the Libyan side since last Friday, according to a security source.

The traffic of passengers and goods has resumed to normal on the Tunisian-Libyan border, the same source added.

The Libyan authorities closed the Dhiba-Wazen checkpoint during the three days of mourning decreed after the death of head of the “Essaraya Nalut” brigade in a road accident when chasing a smugglers’ vehicle on the Tunisian-Libyan border.

The body of the deceased was transported by a military unit to the local hospital of Remada (Tataouine governorate), before being transferred to Libya afterwards.
