Djerba: International Bread Contest

Teams from Tunisia, Libya and Great Britain are taking part, on Friday, in Djerba, in the international bread contest, as part of the International Bread Festival (March 27-31, 2018), at the initiative of the association Saveurs de mon pays

The results of this contest is announced on Saturday, March 31st, at the closing of the festival.

Each team will have to concoct six kinds of traditional bread from their country and prepare a revisited “tabouna” bread and a bread-based dish.

Under the motto “Discovery and Sharing of Ancestral Know-How”, the International Bread Festival kicked off on Tuesday (March 27th) in Djerba.

The programme includes local competition on the theme “bread with flavours of Djerba” (March 29) and workshops of making tabouna and jam.
