Dormaahene Initiates Construction of New Accident and Emergency Unit at Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital

DORMAA AHENKRO: Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II, the Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Area, has initiated the construction of an Accident and Emergency Unit at the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital. This groundbreaking event also marked the launch of his 25th anniversary of enstoolment and the upcoming 2024 Kwafie Festival. According to Ghana News Agency, the Paramount Chief also committed GHC100,000 to support the project. This initiative is part of a broader celebration scheduled from December 9 to December 22, 2024. During a previous visit to the hospital, Osagyefo Oseadeyo Badu II observed a patient receiving a blood transfusion while seated due to the lack of available beds, which he found highly inappropriate and disappointing. He highlighted the urgent need for the new facility, emphasizing that the current conditions did not befit a healthcare institution. The Paramount Chief advised the hospital management to adopt more proactive approaches in addressing healthcare challenges, rather than de pending solely on government-led projects. Reverend Isaac Appiah, the General Manager of the Hospital, expressed his gratitude towards the Dormaahene for his ongoing support and highlighted the difficulties faced due to inadequate space and outdated medical equipment, which hinder the delivery of quality healthcare services. He appealed for further assistance to improve healthcare in the region.
