Draft decree organising distribution channels of agricultural and fisheries products discussed

Officials of the Ministries of Trade, Agriculture, Interior and professional concerned structures have discussed Friday, a draft decree organising the distribution channels of agricultural products and fisheries.

This project, which will be presented later at the Cabinet meeting, aims to digitize the distribution channels.

Minister of Trade and Export Development, Fadhila Rabhi, said at a meeting held on this occasion that this draft decree comes to avoid certain gaps in the law 86 of 1994, according to a statement issued by the Department of Trade on its official social media page.

She stressed that this decree also aims to ensure the regularity of supply of organised circuits and strengthen the transparency of transactions, which will control prices, limit the activity of speculators and prohibit monopolistic practices.

She added that the draft decree stipulates the imposition of regulations to storage operations, the organisation of collection circuits and transport of agricultural products and the tightening of penalties for monopolists.
