Earnings from Tunisia’s date exports up 20%

Earning from date exports have increased by 20% from the beginning of the season (October 1, 2016) until September 8, 2017, compared to the same period of the previous season to 554.9 million dinars (MD) compared with 462.5 MD.

The quantities of dates exported during the same period amounted to 107.5 thousand tonnes against 107.9 thousand tons during the past season, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries.

Similarly, the quantities of organic dates exported during this season amounted to 13.6 thousand tons.

The Ministry of Agriculture has indicated that Morocco still occupies the first place with more than 29.6 thousand tonnes of exported dates followed by France (7.2 thousand tonnes), Italy (5.8 thousand tons) and Spain, Malaysia, Indonesia and the United States with quantities exceeding 4 thousand tonnes each.
