An earth tremor measuring 2.5 degrees on the Richter scale was registered on Thursday at 9:10 a.m. (local time) at sea off Monastir, according to the National Institute of Meteorology (INM).
The epicentre was located at 35.86 degrees latitude and 10.90 degrees longitude 11.7 km northeast of Monastir, preliminary analyses show.
Tunisia has recorded 6 earth tremors since the start of 2023, the strongest of which was registered on January 25 north-east of Chebba, measuring 3.4 degrees on the Richter scale.
