TWIFO-AHYIRE: In a tragic incident in Twifo-Ahyire, located in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of Ghana's Central Region, an eight-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his 12-year-old brother, Mawuko. The incident has left the local community in shock as authorities launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the event. According to Ghana News Agency, the father of the children, Samuel Hegbige, known locally as "Sakora," is a farmer and hunter who had allegedly left his firearm unattended in their home after returning from the bush. The young boy reportedly took the weapon, aimed it at his brother who was eating, and pulled the trigger, resulting in Mawuko's immediate death. Law enforcement personnel, led by Superintendent Charles Addai Boateng, the District Police Commander of Twifo Praso, swiftly responded to the scene. As part of their investigation, they arrested Hegbige. The eight-year-old boy was questioned by authorities but was later released and returned to his family's care. In vestigations into the incident are ongoing as officials continue to gather more information to understand how the tragedy unfolded and to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
