A working session on the preparations of municipal elections, local councils elections and the composition of regional and district councils brought together, on Thursday, members of the Independent High Electoral Authority (ISIE) and a representative of the Ministry of Finance.
In a statement, the ISIE said that this meeting is part of a series of meetings initiated with the various state structures to prepare for the upcoming elections, in light of the publication of Decree-Law No. 8-2023 of March 8, 2023, on municipal elections and Decree-Law No. 10-2023 of March 8, 2023, on the elections of local councils and the composition of regional and district councils.
The meeting was devoted to the examination of issues related to the conditions of candidacy, ahead of the publication, by the ISIE, of the implementing texts.
The meeting also discussed the file of persons who are subject to a final judgment issued by the Court of Auditors in cases of financial or electoral offences and those who have claims for public financing of electoral campaigns.
The meeting was attended by ISIE president Farouk Bouasker, ISIE vice-president Mohamed Naoufel Frikha and the representative of the Finance Ministry.
