Emirati group “Abraaj” acquires stake in TT

Minister of Communication Technologies and Digital Economy, Anouar Maarouf has announced the entry of a new partner in operator Tunisie Telecom(TT), namely Emirati group “Abraaj” who acquired the shares of “Dubai Holding valued at 35% stake in TT.

At a plenary session, held Monday at the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) and during which the draft budget of that department was passed, the minister said the entry of this new partner comes following the decision by Dubai Holding to sell its stake in the capital of TT, hoping to see this new partner contribute to the development of this company’s business.

He added that the former partner of the operator, namely “Dubai Holding has hindered the vision of the government in the development of the company, because since the Revolution, this group had declared it wanted to sell its share in the capital of TT.
